Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, you are behind schedule?

For most of my life, no matter how many personal or professional goals I met or exceeded – no matter how many people told me how good I was doing, I felt a dull ache deep within.

Your Crew

If you’ve been following me for a while you know that I often talk about the importance of having a good Crew.  These are the people working with you and for your best interest. They come in the form of mentors, coaches, significant other, family members, co-workers etc.

And

As you may know, Crewmembers also come from within ourselves. These voices within are most noticeable when you’re ready to decide something important and when you’re in conflict with someone who matters to you. Does this make sense to you?

The dull ache I mentioned earlier comes from an hypersensitive, intelligent and loving wounded child within me who often feels small and incapable.

Today I know that part of me as a solid Crewmember within. She has taught me to slow down and breathe throughout the work day when my anxiety would rather me push harder.  She has taught me that the best way to escape the judgement of “Not Good Enough!” is to find another Crewmember who reminds me that they have my back!!!

If you can relate to what I’ve said, here’s what you can do when you recognize your Crewmember within:

  1. Be empathetic and gentle with yourself. If you can’t than find another Crewmember either real or imaginary who can be an ideal loving, kind and authentic figure for you.
  2. Find a way to connect with your Crewmember within maybe that’s a walk-in nature, dancing, singing or simply acknowledging that you are enough!

If you grew up with the “not good enough feeling”, there is always a safe space for you to sort out your next steps. Join me for “Coffee Talk for Relevant Leaders” and together we’ll be the catalyst for changing how we treat our child within and others we care about. ,
